Outing to the museum

One of the trips my good friend BP made back to Australia, we had an outing to the Science Works museum.  It was a great day out and the kids (and us) really enjoyed it.

 I have actually played in 3 or 4 different role play games in the last few years.  They are fun, I enjoy the dice rolling, I am pretty shit at the 'pretending to be someone else' part.  I am just too self conscious.  I should try and get over that.  Still its fun, I'll jump in again when the opportunity arises.

 Techincally, I didn't finish the quite, but it is finished.  I asked my good buddy Fiona to finish it, I had done all the sewing/piecing, and I really enjoyed that, but I wasn't enjoying the quilting part.  Fiona on the other had loves that part and is really good at it.  I think it was a good compromise.  It looks fantastic.

NZ x2

Since the long hiatus, I have actually been to NZ twice, once to each island.

Feb 2013 was north island (another active volcano!) and a shit tonne of caches.  It was the first major time my hip really ruined a trip for me.  There was a lot of things we couldn't do cos I was in so much pain.  I needed drugs to do pretty much and thing and there were things we had to take off the list all together cos of how much pain I was in.  Was still a fun time, but my hip was not any fun at all.

December/Jan 2018 was the south island NZ trip.  A trip mainly for Neil's birthday, so there was a lot of steam stuff and a few caches.  A helicopter ride.  My first test of new hip, in that respect, this trip was the opposite of the last one, 5 years previously.  I was so pleased with how much I could do and the options being able to walk around gave the trip.  It was great!

Its a lemon

 Moving house here to Ballarat, I finally got the location to plant a lemon tree.  I bought a dwarf lemon, so it won't grow too big and I can't reach the top.  Its in the front yard, near the tap, so its easy to water.  No lemons yep, but its only been there 12 months.  No rush :) 

Course complete

 I enjoyed the pattern drafting course and learnt many things.  I haven't put the learnings in to action as much as I would have liked, but I have made a few very lovely items.  My favourite being my woolen coat.

Volcano trip

 Back in winter 2015, we left cold old Melbourne for warmer climb.  We went to Vanuatu, Fiji and Hawaii.  Two of the three of these included live volanos.  Super happy with the trip, was exhausting, included many cocktails and many amazing sites. 

Long time, no update

So its been a massively long time since I did an update here, but recently I had cause to take a look at this and noticed that, even though I haven't actively been working on this for (omg) 13 years, I have actually completed more of these tasks.  So here come some update posts.

More chucking out of stuff

99. My year 12 formal dress. It's never going to fit again, I have no where to keep it.
100. My lamby when when I was a baby, it's torn and worn out.
101. my bag of socks that need darning, seriously I will never to it, I have gotten over it!

So even though this now counts this task as completed, now that I have started, I think will continue to chuck stuff out, because I seem to be doing so well at it!

Visiting

We visited Mum and Dad yesterday, which I think makes three times this year. I don't think I have visited three times every year, because of a little 'issue' at one stage there, but I have this year so good enough.

As a result of this post, I have decided I need to through some stuff out. I have decided cloths look like an easy target so here goes

88. 5 pairs of pants (trousers for those of you that way inclined) to the op shop
89. 9 t-shirts, to the op shop

91. two hand bags, one to the bin, one to the op shop

93. one sun hat, it's bright orange, I am never going to wear it.

95. 3 sandals, 2 bin, one op shop, bye guys, I'll miss two of you anyway! Especially the red ones Clara chewed when she was a puppy, they were great.
96. my old camera box and instructions, I only haven't had that camera for 2 years.
97. an empty Cointreau bottle, honestly, why do I keep this shit!
98. Do you recon Body Shop things go off? So do I and I've had the stuff I chucked out since 2002.

when will it come

This isn't even bloody published in the size I buy yet! (I can get it in trade paper back, but I hate that size) This sort of this is not helping me finish my list on time

And I'm back

I have been away in the UK for 6ish weeks so, as was fairly clear anyway, there is no way this will be finished in the next -4 days. I am going to try and finish is though, I'm not really concerned how long it takes. Our trip was great, you can read about it here.

Unexpected win

We have an international visitor staying with us at the moment. She is Canada and is very nice. We took her, very unexpectedly, down to the Penguins on Phillip Island. We also went to the Koala park down there. Both of these were great. We got to see a tiny tiny koala, which had only just grown fur, and a tiny penguin, that still had grey downie feathers on. We had a great day. (Neil took all the good photos, I will try to get some off him to show on here.)

There were a number of visitors through out the time starting with Craig and Loo, then Fiona, Scott and Martin and Ingrid.
There was also a bit of sleeping during the event, more by Neil than me but I am really ready for bed now.

minor edit - task done

I have changed this task from go to the Talbot Market to go to the Market. Today Neil and I went to St.Kilda Market. I haven't been for for best part of 10 years. It wasn't as big as I remember, but I'm assuming that is because it's winter, and quite cold. It was a pleasant afternoon out. Now we are planing on sitting around and doing not much for the rest of the day.

Patee Thai

We were really late home from work the other night. We divided to tick off another restaurant off the list. This restaurant is one I have always wanted to go to, as they have the really cool traditional sitting on the floor tables. I couldn't actually sit at them, cos of my hip being so crap, but it was good to go there non the less. The food was quite good. There was lots of it and it wasn't really expensive.
